Fig Cottage is immersed in idyllic countryside and bordered by National Trust gardens, yet just 20 minutes from the magical city of Bath and a five-minute walk from great pubs and cafes. Beautiful Bradford-on-Avon is just two miles away, whilst Longleat House and Safari, Lacock Abbey, Avebury, Stonehenge, Stourhead and Dyrham Park are all within easy reach. Fig Cottage is available for weekly rental from Friday to Friday, with long weekends and mid week breaks by special request. We do occasionally offer longer term rentals, please do enquire if this is of interest.

Fig Cottage is a single storey self-catering holiday cottage near Bath, perfectly located in the picturesque Wiltshire village of Holt. Just 5 minutes from Bradford-on-Avon and 20 minutes from Bath, it offers easy access to the best of the West Country and Cotswolds.

The cottage is tucked away in the peaceful grounds of a Grade II-listed home, right next to the beautiful Courts Garden (National Trust) and surrounded by open meadows and fields. It is an ideal location for walking, relaxing or exploring Wiltshire.

Inside, the fully equipped modern kitchen includes everything you need for a comfortable stay: electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine.

Prefer to eat out? Holt is home to some excellent eateries, all just a short stroll away. Enjoy fresh, seasonal food at the Tollgate Inn, coffee, cake and lunch at the Wild Herb Cafe, or a relaxed pint or fish and chips at the Old Ham Tree. Whether you’re after award-winning dining, a casual brunch or an excellent coffee, Holt’s cafes and pubs won’t disappoint.

Step inside Fig Cottage, a spacious, single-storey holiday cottage in Holt, Wiltshire, just minutes from Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. The open-plan living area features a comfy sofa, armchair and double doors leading to a private deck and courtyard garden – perfect for morning coffee or evening sundowners.

Unwind indoors with the flat-screen TV, Netflix, Disney+, and other on-demand apps, or play your favourite music on the stereo. The cottage offers fast Wi-Fi, making it ideal for both switching off and working from ‘home.’

Guests can enjoy fresh eggs from our friendly hens (kept securely away from visiting dogs) and are welcome to bring well-behaved dogs to this pet-friendly holiday cottage.

The bedroom is styled with vintage charm and features a luxuriously comfortable king-size Loaf bed with crisp white linen and a feather duvet – perfect for a restful night’s sleep. A cot is available on request, and the sofa bed in the living area can accommodate two small children or one adult, making Fig Cottage a great choice for family stays in Wiltshire.

The stylish bathroom includes a large walk-in rainfall shower and fluffy cotton towels.

Often described as a “mini Bath,” it boasts independent shops, historic buildings, pretty churches, and miles of scenic canal towpaths ideal for walking, cycling, boating or paddleboarding.

Nature lovers will enjoy The Courts Garden, located right next door, and Great Chalfield Manor, just a short walk away (and a filming location for Poldark). Other nearby National Trust and English Heritage favourites include Lacock Abbey, Dyrham Park, The Iford Manor Estate, Stourhead Gardens, Avebury Manor, Longleat House and Safari Park and and Bowood are all within easy reach.

Fig Cottage is tucked away behind open meadows in the idyllic village of Holt, just 20 minutes from Bath. It offers a tranquil village setting, yet there are four great pubs and cafes within a short walk.

Fig Cottage offers one bedroom with a superbly comfortable King Size bed, plus a sofa bed which can sleep two children or one adult (two if you're happy to be cosy!). We also offer a travel cot for infants.

1 bedroom with superbly comfy king size bed, made by luxury bed maker Loaf. Feather duvet and pillows, crisp white bed linen, white fluffy cotton towels and hairdryer all included. The bedroom features a floor to ceiling window, chest of drawers, bedside tables and wardrobe with hanging space.

1 bathroom with large, walk-in rainfall shower, sink and WC. There is also additional storage space within the bathroom.

Fully equipped kitchen with oven, gas hob, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer, washing machine, crockery, glassware and cutlery. There is also an iron and ironing board. There is gas central heating throughout Fig Cottage.

Free, fast WIFI, flat screen TV, stereo system and radio with CD player. Netflix, iPlayer and other on demand TV services available.

Peaceful courtyard garden, surrounded by mature shrubs and roses, with seating. From the living area, large glass double doors open out onto a decked area.

Crisp, fresh bed linen and fluffy towels are included. We also provide guests with tea, coffee, fast WIFI and plenty of dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and washing powder.

Free parking is available directly outside Fig Cottage.

Fig Cottage is non smoking.

Children of all ages are welcome. We offer a travel cot for infants and sofa bed for older children. We are happy to provide a booster seat, blackout blinds and toys.

We accept well behaved dogs, but ask that they are not allowed on the furniture.

Bath Spa station is ten miles, Bradford on Avon is 2.5 miles and Chippenham is 11 miles.

Bristol Airport is 29 miles and London Heathrow is 94 miles.

Holt Superstore is ¼ mile away, plus Waitrose, Sainsburys, Lidl and Asda are 3.6 miles away in Melksham.

The Tollgate Inn, Ham Tree pub, Field Kitchen Cafe and Rose Garden Café are all within ¼ mile. The fabulous George at Woolley is 2.2 miles away and there is an array of great pubs and restaurants in Bradford on Avon, 2.5 miles away.
