Escape the everyday with a weekend break in Bath

Escape the everyday responsibly this season with a weekend break to the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, where world-class architecture, attractions, culture and cuisine await. With the last of the summer sunshine spilling over into autumn it makes for the ideal time to explore Bath’s leafy surroundings by foot, boat or bike. Navigate the city on foot and explore hidden parks and gardens linked between the historic cobbled labyrinth of streets, or take to exploring on two wheels via the cycle network or the Two Tunnels route. Then again you may prefer to sit and reflect on the world going by with a gentle river cruise down the Avon, or a paddle down the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Reconnect with friends and family with a visit to world-class museums and attractions, or delve into the warming waters of Thermae Bath Spa for an indulgent few hours of relaxation. For an alternative view of the city take to the skies with a sunset balloon ride, or explore the surrounding countryside and the quintessentially English towns and villages, before a stop-off in one of the many local pubs for a quick pint or a hearty meal to round-off the day. For activity seekers why not give paddleboarding along the Avon a go with Original Wild or take to the water with a kayak or canoe, offering splendid views of the Georgian city and the iconic Pulteney Bridge.

Whether you’re visiting for a cultural insight, reunion with friends or a romantic escape, there is plenty to see and do in and around the city and a wealth of beautiful and welcoming accommodation provided by Bath Self Catering ready for your stay. You don’t have to visit at the weekend either, you may prefer a quieter weekday / midweek stay, when you’ll often find more choice and availability as well.
