Tucked away in a very private location on the edge of the walled village of Bathford, this former dairy has been skilfully converted to a luxury standard, creating an exceptionally attractive space. It is less than three miles from Bath city centre and a few minutes from The Kennet and Avon Canal, with towpath walks and narrow boats for hire. The Cotswolds are within half an hour’s drive northwards.
From the unusual approach via an ancient, narrow path and through an archway to a secret patio, to the many original features of the building which dates from the early seventeenth century, Old Dairy Barn exudes character and style.
There’s an impressive, beamed open-plan living room with inglenook on the ground floor and inspirational views across the valley towards the city from the main bedroom’s picture window upstairs. A shared bathroom with shower, toilet and wash hand basin accesses both this main bedroom and the smaller twin bedroom, also with exposed beams and with two antique single beds.
Sleeps 4 in double and twin.
Please note that the small twin room is only accessed via the double bedroom so is most suitable for a couple wanting a more spacious retreat or a family with 2 small children.
There is access to the shower room from both the double and twin rooms. Please note there is no bath.
Newly fitted kitchen with wooden worktops, oven/hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer.
TV and DVD player
The original stone staircase leads directly to the first floor bedrooms. Although there is a handrail it is not ideal for visitors with mobility issues. A stairgate is provided, and toddlers must be supervised with care.
On street parking opposite
No smoking
Children are welcome, and the twin room is very suitable as it is adjacent to the double room. There is a high chair, cot, and stairgate provided. Toddlers must be supervised with care on the stairs. The paved courtyard is enclosed and safe.
On small dog is welcome. Dogs are not allowed in the upstairs rooms and must not be left alone on the property. Full T&Cs on the website concerning pets.
