Set in a peaceful, rural location, Cumberwell Country Cottages offers 7 award winning unique, luxurious and spacious self-catering cottages set in the beautiful Wiltshire Countryside on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty but only 5 miles from the world heritage city of Bath and 1 mile from the Saxon town of Bradford-on-Avon.

Cumberwell Country Cottages are located on Great Cumberwell Farm, which has been in the James family since 1939 and was originally a dairy farm until 1992 when the herd was sold making way for a diversification into Cumberwell Park Golf Club, the farm itself has not changed a great deal and is still a working farm with over 300 acres of arable crop.

The self-catering cottages available for your stay have been converted from an old tithe barn which has had many purposes in the past including stables, a grain store and cider production as the orchard at the front of the cottages was a cider apple orchard.

Cumberwell is believed to have links with the Doomsday book when Cumberwell Manor used to exist at the top of the Farmhouse Garden, until it burnt down – Rumoured to have been by a cigarette left alight by the drunken butler!!

The Farm where the cottages are located has been in the James family since 1939. Originally and for 55 years it was a dairy farm until 1992 when the dairy cows were sold making way for a diversification into Cumberwell Park Golf Club. The original Great Cumberwell Farm and its buildings have not changed a great deal over the years and in fact we still farm over 300 acres of arable each year, crops including Wheat, Barley and Oilseed Rape.

The Cottages you can stay in have been converted from an old tythe barn, which has been restored with its original character in mind. Each cottage has taken its name from an original field on the farm, many of which have now been taken over by the golf course. The original tythe barn had many uses over the years.
