Although recently built(Spring 2006), Chestnut Cottage feels like a mini converted barn with a galleried upper bedroom. It has a tiled, open plan kitchen, living and dining area with exposed oak beams giving a light and airy feel. There are French doors at the front, opening out on to a small patio area with garden furniture and barbecue. The Shaker style kitchen is well equipped and has an electric cooker with oven, dishwasher and microwave. Chestnut has a double bedroom downstairs with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and a shower room with wash basin and WC. Ladder stairs lead to a mezzanine galleried twin-bedded room with a wooden floor. This is not suitable for unsupervised young children but older children love it.
Chestnut is identical to both Maple and Cherry Cottages except that Chestnut has a further set of French windows in a glazed wall to the side which opens out on to a small seating area with a garden view.
The cottage shares a separate utility room containing a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer. All heating, electricity and hot water is included in the tariff as is all bed linen, towels and tea-towels.
